International Bio Seminar

International Bio Seminar

We are providing the following International Bio Seminar as doctoral course programs to train young scientists who will be able to perform leadership in international society.

International Bio Seminar A / B (A curriculum for students enrolled in and before 2009)

These courses aim to train communication skills required to perform research activities at laboratories in English speaking countries. We would send NAIST students to our partner institutions abroad. In the laboratories, they will have opportunities to contribute to a joint research, to learn experimental techniques, and to participate in educational activities for a period of one month (International Bio Seminar A) or 1~2 weeks (International Bio Seminar B). In order to take this course, students are required to submit the activity plans to receive permissions from the main research advisors and the academic affairs committee.

International Bio Seminar (International Bio Semiar C for students enrolled in and before 2009)

This course aims to improve students communication and presentation skills in English. We will invite several teaching staff from UCD-BS to NAIST, where they will give a scientific lecture for two days and lead discussions with students. Students are requested to read several references prior to the class to learn the keywords and the context of the lecture. Each class consists of small number of students, and they are expected to discuss and exchange ideas aggressively in English.
