GCOE Workshop with a world distinguished scholar 2008 report
A GCOE workshop with the distinguished scholar Scott Gilbert was held at NAIST on October 16th, 2008, organized by Dr. Yoshiko Takahashi. Dr. Gilbert is best known for his textbook "Developmental Biology". Seven young researchers from NAIST gave stimulating presentations on their current work concerning morphogenesis, organogenesis and body patterning during animal development. Approximately 40 participants attended the workshop. Many researchers and students asked questions, and Dr. Gilbert gave us wonderful comments from a broad perspective. This workshop provided great opportunities to stimulate the research activity of our young scientists and students.
